    On this day in 1978 {October 7th} the Rolling Stones performed Beast of Burden on the NBC-TV prargom Saturday Night Live’ One month earlier on September 9th it entered Billboard’s Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #8 and spent 13 weeks on the Top 100 Four years later 1983 it was covered by Bette Midler; her version reached #71 on Billboard’s Hot Top 100 chart
