Hello all, we’re back and kicking it with another exciting Shive feature. It seems like this group just sprung up over night. With their single, “More that Friends” featuring Nutt da Kidd and Partners-n-Crime nationally blazin the air waves, “How could we not get the“8-9 Boyz” in here?

 Shive: New Orleans is hometown right? How old are you guys?

8/9 Boyz: Yeah, Downtown N.O. It’s 5 members: E-Z Money, LiveWire, S.U.G., Fraze, and Young Chris and our ages range from 21-25

Shive: How did you come to form the group? And what’s the story behind the 8-9 boyz name?

8/9 Boyz: Well we all pretty much grew up together in the 8th wd, E-Z Money from the 9th wd so we put that together n made 8-9 Boyz.

Shive: Your first single, “More than Friends” featured Nutt Da Kidd and Partners-N-Crime. How did you guys link up?

8/9 Boyz: Kidd Kidd’s our homie. He supported us since day one so its like family with us and Rida Gang. We reached out to Kango and Blaq-n-Mild produced the track. Everything just kinda fell in place.

Shive: “More than Friends” reached Billboards Top 100 and is still in heavy rotation across the region. Did you expect this success?

8/9 Boyz: We definitely had confidence in the record and felt strongly about it. It was a shock to see how fast the city got on board with it. As unsigned artists with no financial backing or label support its amazing to see it hit Billboard …. twice!! – Fraze

Shive: What are you working on now?

8/9 Boyz: We just wrapped up the album “Eyes on the Prize” that’ll be out real soon. We’re also promoting our new single “Dream Girl” featuring Odie B, so keep supporting that. – E-Z Money

Shive: Do you think the second single will have the same affect as the first?

8/9 Boyz: So far, So Good. We’re getting alot of positive feedback on the record and I believe in it just as much as the first single. But we’re not done yet, we got a 3rd single on the way so lookout for that too! – S.U.G.

Shive: What can we expect from your album? Any more features?

8/9 Boyz: We got a few tricks up our sleeves. I don’t wanna reveal too much, but its a classic album I promise. – Young
